Once our Father has subjected everything to His loving dominion, down to the smallest detail, He has great plans in mind for us human beings.

Indeed, it is not just a few people who are called to find the way of faith, but all. Not only some must learn that their Creator and Redeemer is the kindest of all fathers, but all mankind must know it and hear it. The struggle that the Lord wages for us and with us against the powers of darkness is not only unavoidable, but is part of the salvific plan of His love. Just as on the path of following Christ it is necessary to engage in spiritual combat in order to restrain our passions and resist the seductions of this world, it is also necessary to fight against the fallen angels. “If armies in camp should stand together against me, my heart shall not fear” (Ps 26:3).

Although the armies advancing against us are not visible, they are no less real than those engaged in physical warfare. We are surrounded by invisible enemies, who want to divert us from the way of salvation and, if they do not succeed, at least try to hinder us. This is what the Apostle Paul describes in the Letter to the Ephesians:

The Holy Curé of Ars was a soul inflamed with love, who wanted to correspond fully to the love of the Lord, a true example for all priests! His heart burned for God. What he would have wanted most of all was to enter a contemplative monastery in order to express all his love for the Lord. But God had other plans for him. “Thou hast set him over the works of thy hands. Thou hast subjected all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen: moreover the beasts also of the fields. The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, that pass through the paths of the sea. O Lord our Lord, how admirable is thy name in all the earth!” (Ps 8:7-10).

In many areas, we humans can have a share in the glory of the Father. If we stay in God’s way, we will succeed in exercising the dominion He has entrusted to us over creation in the way He intended. Read More

“What is man that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him? Thou hast made him a little less than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour” (Ps 8:5-6).

Why did our Father create man? He who possesses fullness in Himself, who is perfect, who lacks nothing and does not need to evolve… There is no other reason that could have moved God to give life to the whole of creation – and particularly to man – than the mystery of His love. God’s love is so infinitely great that the Father resorts to the comparison of the ocean so that we can inTUit its greatness, its immensity and its depth.
