Faithful unto death

Lk 9:23-26

Gospel in memory of Saints Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and fellow martyrs

And Jesus said to all, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Read More

TO SHUT THE GATES OF HELL

451st Meditation

“Now that I am giving you this light, remain in this light and carry it to everyone. It will be a powerful means to obtain conversions and even, if possible, to close the gates of hell” (Father’s message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

Our Father is doing everything to save us human beings. To see this, it is enough to look at His Son and His sacrifice on the Cross. Read More

Looking forward to eternity

Hb 10:32-36

Reading corresponding to the memorial of St. Januarius

But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, sometimes being publicly exposed to abuse and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. For you had compassion on the prisoners, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.  For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised.

God wants all people to be saved

1 Tim 2:1-8

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men,  for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Read More

Overcoming resentment and anger

Eccles 27,30–28,7

Anger and wrath, these also are abominations, and the sinful man will possess them. He that takes vengeance will suffer vengeance from the Lord, and he will firmly establish his sins. Forgive your neighbor the wrong he has done, and then your sins will be pardoned when you pray. Does a man harbor anger against another, and yet seek for healing from the Lord? Does he have no mercy toward a man like himself, and yet pray for his own sins?

THE WORD OF THE FATHER

449th Meditation

“I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me (…), and they have kept thy word” (Jn 17:6).

It is important for our Lord that we accept Him as the One sent by the Father and that we keep His Word, because it is the Word of our Heavenly Father.

Those who do so are safe, for, as the Lord tells us in the Gospel, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away” (Mt 24:35). And so it is! Read More

GREAT IS LOVE

448th Meditation

“Dear children of My love. I have great plans for you!” (The Father’s message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

Our Father always has great plans for us, although His infinite patience accompanies us also in the smallest steps and even in our detours. Yes, God is so faithful that He even accompanies those who have turned away from Him, always trying to lead them back home. Read More

Following the voice of the Lord

Jn 17:1a,11b-19

“Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said. Holy Father, keep those you have given me true to your name, so that they may be one like us. While I was with them, I kept those you had given me true to your name. I have watched over them and not one is lost except one who was destined to be lost, and this was to fulfil the scriptures. But now I am coming to you and I say these things in the world to share my joy with them to the full.
