192nd Meditation
“This is the revelation of God’s love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him” (1 Jn 4:9).
Everywhere this cry must resound without ever falling silent, because all await the manifestation of the Saviour: “Hosanna to the Son of David” (Mt 21:9).
In the praise of the Son resounds at the same time the praise of the Father, for He could not have shown us greater love than to send us His only-begotten Son.
And it is the Holy Spirit, sent into our hearts, who inspires and enlivens this praise of God, revealing His love to us ever more deeply and making us receptive to it.
Nor can we forget the praise of the Blessed Virgin, whom the Father chose as the Mother of the One whom He sent so that we might live through Him. Our Father sent us life itself, so that we humans would understand that the secret of our life is His love.
Once we understand this and live deeply out of His love, we will have understood what is essential and the message that God wanted to communicate to us will have reached its destination. Who can live without love? No one! Who can truly live without knowing God’s love? No one! It is this love that fills everything.
That is why we must hasten to make the cry “Hosanna to the Son of David” ring out, so that through the Son, people may recognise and love their heavenly Father.
