It is a great work of our Heavenly Father to free people from false notions about Him. Sometimes one encounters two opposing attitudes, neither of which hits the mark. One is to see God as the avenging Judge who relentlessly pursues every sin and every weakness of humanity. This fails to recognize the loving Father who does everything to save humanity from its lost state.
It is therefore not surprising that the Father speaks in Madre Eugenia’s booklet about those souls whom some people consider lost after judgment. God reminds us of how great His love is, which seeks us out until our very last breath.
What happens to souls after their death remains the mystery of God’s love and justice. We do not know what takes place between God and a person in the final moment before death. Therefore, it is fitting always to remember God’s great love for all people and to pray for their salvation.
On the other hand, we must not allow erroneous attitudes to arise, as if our Father did not take sin seriously or as if sin itself were not truly harmful. This would also create a distorted image of God, and the full gravity of the work of redemption would fade.
The Holy Spirit, as our teacher, will form the true image of God within us, so that through our witness we may help our Father be recognized, honored, and loved as a loving and just God.
