“DO NOT FEAR THE DEVILS”

“A soul in a state of grace has nothing to fear from a bunch of cowardly devils.” (St. Thérèse of Lisieux)

Time and again, we must overcome this fear. It is true that we must remain aware of the devils’ schemes so as not to let our guard down, but our attention must be focused on our Heavenly Father. A soul that lives in union with Him, adorned by His grace and firmly rooted in it, terrifies the demons. In such a case, it is God Himself who dwells in the soul, and we know how the demons fled from the Son of God and from those who opposed them in the Name of Jesus. This applies to all souls in a state of grace. It does not mean that they cannot be attacked or disturbed by evil spirits, but rather that these spirits cannot triumph over them, for they are not facing a weak human being left at their mercy, but God Himself. Therefore, Saint Thérèse is right in saying that we have no reason to fear them.

This also applies to the difficult times we are currently living through, in which demons carry out their dark game of deception against people and seem unstoppable. God is always watching over His own, and if they live and remain in His grace, He will sustain them through every trial. What matters is that we do not lose sight of our Father or allow our trust in Him to waver. He is the Lord, not those who, in their delusion, believe they can establish a kingdom independent of Him or even in opposition to Him. In souls who remain faithful and in a state of grace, demons will find invincible adversaries who do not fear them. Rather, it is the demons who fear such souls.

The same would be true if we lived under the rule of an Antichrist. He will not be able to dominate those who live in God’s grace. Rather, he will fear them.
