“NO ONE CAN SNATCH THEM OUT OF THE FATHER’S HAND” (JN 10:29)

321st Meditation

“My Father, who has given them [the sheep] to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” (Jn 10:29).

In the hands of our Saviour, in which the Father has placed us, we can pass safely through the time of our earthly life and face in the right way the dangers that come our way. They can never gain power over us, no matter how threatening they may seem. Think of the Lord’s victory on the Cross: the powers of darkness thought they had triumphed; but in reality it was the hour of their defeat. Read More

I WILL BE YOUR ALL

320th Meditation

“I will be your All, and I will suffice you for everything” (Message of the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

It is a promise that our Father makes to the “children of His love”, that is to say, to religious men and women. But it is certainly not limited to them alone, even if it is addressed to them in a particular way. Read More

“YOU ARE MERCIFUL TO ALL”

319th Meditation

“You are merciful to all, because you are almighty, you overlook people’s sins, so that they can repent” (Wis 11:23).

Our Father’s compassion goes hand in hand with His loving Omnipotence. If it were not so, how often would people have destroyed themselves, would have had to drink the bitter cup of their sins themselves and bear the consequences of their faults without mitigation. But our Father loves to pity humanity. Read More

“THOSE WHO ARE FAITHFUL WILL LIVE WITH HIM”

318th Meditation

“Those who trust in him will understand the truth, those who are faithful will live with him in love” (Wis 3:9a).

In a heart that trusts in the Father the truth can penetrate, for God draws it to Himself and fills it with Himself. Such a heart detaches itself from the false securities that bind it to a world of illusions, so that our Father can fully awaken love for Him in this heart. Thus, the heart surrenders itself completely to Him. God enters it and dwells in it. He is no longer just an occasional guest, but makes this heart His temple, the sanctuary of His presence, His dwelling place…. Read More

YOUR LOVE IS MORE DELICIOUS THAN WINE

317th Meditation

It is the mystics who can vividly describe to us the love of God, often using ecstatic language, as sometimes happens on the human plane with lovers, who want to express their love.

These mystics are as if enraptured, because the overwhelming divine love has opened up the depths of their soul, pouring into them and overflowing as well. They can hardly contain it! Because of our earthly limitations, it is difficult to describe in words what the soul experiences. However, we can turn to the language of love. Read More

IN THE LIGHT OF YOUR PRESENCE

315th Meditation

“How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, O Lord, in the light of your presence. The Holy One of Israel is our king” (Ps 89:15,18).

Whoever acclaims the Lord and acknowledges Him as King, enters into the reality established and revealed by God, because the Lord is indeed a King. Moreover: He is the true King, in whom everything has its origin. Read More

ONE GLANCE OF HIS LOVE

313th Meditation

“Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices” (Ps 84:10).

How much the psalmist understood what it means to be in the nearness of God! Indeed, isn’t that so? Even if it were only one day that we could spend close to our beloved Father, how incomparable it would be in relation to all the other days when we were not near Him! Read More

“I WOULD FEED YOU ON PURE WHEAT”

312th Meditation

“If only my people would listen to me, if only Israel would walk in my ways, I would feed him on pure wheat, would give you your fill of honey from the rock” (Ps 81:13.16).

This is what our Heavenly Father has in store for us: a life in abundance, a life in His loving presence, abundantly supplying the bodily and spiritual needs of His children and filling them with His overflowing and unceasing love. These are the intentions of our Father, which remain unchanging! With the eyes of faith we can recognise them and rejoice in the Father day by day. Read More
