THE HEART OF GOD IS OUR REFUGE

342nd Meditation

“As long as you remain in my heart, you will be under my divine protection. Even if the powers of darkness rise up, they will achieve nothing” (Inner Word).

Our Father offers us His Heart as a refuge, for against Him the powers of darkness can achieve nothing. They attack man in order to confuse him and, if possible, to seize his grace. But if we remain in the Heart of God, their efforts will be in vain. Read More

“SHEATHE YOUR SWORD”

341st Meditation

“Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put away your sword; shall I not drink the cup which the Father has given me?'” (Jn 18:11).

Can we not understand Peter’s reaction? In the garden of Gethsemane, he had to see with his own eyes how his beloved Master was taken prisoner. Should he not defend Him? Would he not thus be demonstrating to Jesus his love, his fidelity and also his courage? Read More

LISTEN TO HIM

340th Meditation

“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to Him” (Mt 17:5).

Our Father gives us this instruction on Mount Tabor, during the Transfiguration of Jesus, addressing in the first instance the 3 disciples who accompanied Jesus at that moment. They were able to experience the glorious Transfiguration of the Lord, and we know how awed Peter was when he saw that Moses and Elijah, the representatives of the Law and the Prophets, also appeared. What a fullness! Certainly the disciples could hardly believe their eyes. Read More

I WANT THEM TO BE WITH ME

339th Meditation

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am” (Jn 17:24a).

In these words, Jesus fully expresses His love for us. He wants to have us with Him forever. To no better place could He take us than to His eternal Kingdom, in communion with the Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit, and all those whose hearts belong to God. Read More

RECOGNIZING GOD AS FATHER

338th Meditation

“In My fatherly goodness I will give you everything, provided that all regard Me as a true Father” (Father’s message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).

Our Father can and wants to give us everything; to give us Himself together with all that we need for our natural and supernatural life; to give us joy in the present life and unceasing joy in eternity. And the condition He sets for us to receive all this is very easy but indispensable: we must recognize Him as our Father. Read More

I CAME FROM THE FATHER

336th Meditation

“I came from the Father and have come into the world and now I am leaving the world to go to the Father” (Jn 16:28).

This is the all-embracing reality of our Lord Jesus. The Lord proceeds from the Father, fulfils His mission in the world and returns to the Father. Everything is oriented to the Father; all the words Jesus speaks, all His works, everything is a living testimony of the Father’s love for the Son and for us, as well as of the Son’s love for the Father and for us human beings. “ANYONE WHO HAS SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER”

333rd Meditation

“If you know me, you will know my Father too. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (Jn 14:7,9).

These words of our Lord lead us to the knowledge of the Father. Our Saviour wants to make the Father known to us, and we understand that He does the works of His Father so that the Father may be glorified and we may know Him as He truly is (Jn 10:37-38). Read More
