HOLD FAST TO THE ANCHOR OF TRUST

208th Meditation

“I exhort you again and again to trust, for nothing can terrify a soul who puts its trust in the Lord and places its hope in Him. The enemy of our salvation is always lurking around trying to snatch from our hearts the anchor that leads us to salvation-by that I mean trust in God our Father. Let us hold this anchor very tightly and never allow it to be yielded up even for an instant. Otherwise all could be lost” (St. Pio of Pietrelcina). Read More

THE KINGDOM OF HIS LOVE

206th Meditation

“In Mary’s heart, the Father builds the Kingdom of His love” (St. John Eudes).

What a beautiful statement by St. John Eudes! It is indeed so: Our Lady fully accepted God’s love and gave the response that our Father asks and expects from us, human beings. By saying “let it happen to me as you have said” (Lk 1:38), Mary opened the doors so that the Father could unfold His plan of salvation without hindrance. And God entrusted her with the most precious that He could give to mankind: His beloved Son. Read More

GRACE RADIATES ON OTHER SOULS

205th Meditation

“Whoever approaches Me with trust receives My grace with such superabundance, that he cannot contain it and radiates it on others” (Words of the Lord to St. Faustina Kowalska).

These beautiful words give us to understand that the Lord wants to make us recipients of His grace. In this way, the graces that He bestows on us will not only serve to fill our soul and make it blossom in all its beauty; they will also reach other people through us, because the Lord always thinks of all people and wants to lead them all back home, to His Kingdom. THE VICTOR IS THE ONE WHO WANTS TO FIGHT ON

204th Meditation

“Only those who lose their courage are defeated. The victor is the one who wants to fight on” (St. Francis de Sales).

A maxim for this year and for all times… Whoever trusts in our Father will not lose courage and therefore not lose his fundamental course. The powers of evil try to fight against the Lord and His Anointed (Ps 2:2), but their efforts are in vain. In the end, the devil is only the “decived deceiver”. This is the reality and we must internalise this certainty! Read More

“A GUARD AT THE DOOR OF MY LIPS” (PS 141:3)

203rd Meditation

“Lord, mount a guard over my mouth, a guard at the door of my lips” (Ps 141:3).

How different everything would be if every person would say this wise prayer and act according to it! How much suffering would be avoided and how much progress would be made in the spiritual life!

“Thoughtless words can wound like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Prov 12:18). Read More

OPENNESS TO CHRIST

201st Meditation

“Today I wish to say that openness to Christ, who as the Redeemer of the world fully reveals man himself, can only be achieved through an ever more mature reference to the Father and His love” (John Paul II, Encyclical “Dives in Misericordia”).

The more we know the Father and learn to understand His love, the more we see the Son with the eyes of the Father, the deeper our relationship with Jesus will become. Thus, from the perspective of the love of His Heavenly Father, we discover our Savior. There can be no deeper encounter with Him! Read More

JESUS, I LOVE YOU

200th Meditation

These would have been the last words of Pope Benedict XVI before he died; three simple words that allow us to take a deep look into the heart of this Pontiff, who will now meet God in all His glory.

Only the Holy Spirit can awaken in the hearts of men this love for Jesus and make them find their home in the love of the Holy Trinity. With these last words, Pope Benedict shows himself to be a child of this love.

“Jesus, I love you.” Read More

THE TRUE FOOD

199th Meditation

“My food is to do the will of the one who sent me, and to complete his work” (Jn 4:34).

Our Lord’s word is a clear guide for us. Doing the Will of the Father is not only the food for Jesus, but for all of us. Only this food truly satisfies us, because it introduces us to the primordial meaning of our existence.

By His Will, the Father called us to life, redeemed us and will bring us to fulfilment. These simple facts give us the light to live according to God’s truth. Read More
