Between 29 July and 6 August we will be making a novena in preparation for the Feast of God the Father, which, although not yet officially established by the Church, we celebrate at least privately every 7 August, in accordance with the request expressed by God the Father Himself in the Message to Mother Eugenia Ravasio. During these nine days, these meditations would replace the “3 minutes for Abba”.

“Jesus said: Father, the hour has come: glorify your Son so that your Son may glorify you” (Jn 17:1).

The hour of Jesus… It is the dark hour in which Jesus shows His love for the Father unto the end.

It is the dark hour when Jesus seeks comfort from His disciples in the garden of Gethsemane, but finds none (Mt 26:36-46).

It is the dark hour when Jesus gives His definitive yes to the will of the Father (Mt 26:42). Read More

“Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said: ‘Father…'” (Jn 17:1).

This is the predominant attitude of Jesus: raising His eyes to the Father. It expresses the very depths of His being, for He came into the world to do the will of the Father (cf. Jn 4:34). Nothing was more important to Him! His heart was at all time focused on the Father. Read More

We cannot yet behold God face to face. The beatific vision is reserved for eternity and will be an endless joy. However, even before that, our Father makes Himself known in many ways and, in an unsurpassable manner, He manifests Himself in His own Son: “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (Jn 14:9). In the Message to Mother Eugenia, the Father expresses a deep desire of His:

“Let My priests go fearlessly everywhere, among all nations, to bring the flame of My fatherly love to men. Then souls will be enlightened and conquered, not only among unbelievers, but in all those sects which are not of the true Church. Yes, I want these men also, who are My children, to see this flame shining before them, to know the truth, to embrace it and to put all the Christian virtues into practice.” Read More

 If we want to deepen our relationship with our Heavenly Father, it is important to take time to be alone with Him. Many fruits could be listed that arise from this intimacy. However, there is one reason that can be our main motivation for seeking and cultivating this silent dialogue with our Father. He Himself mentions it:

God created us from nothing. His only motivation was His love for us. That is why He created man in the image of Himself (Gen 1:27) and clothed him with great dignity.

Various practices of piety have arisen among the faithful to honour God the Father: Rosaries and litanies dedicated to Him, different prayers of consecration, among others… A form of worship that is proper to us is the “Office to God the Father”, as well as various ejaculatory prayers that can be repeated as a prayer of the heart. These newly initiated daily impulses are also intended to serve this purpose. Read More
