I have written and spoken about the coming of the Antichrist on several occasions. I have also addressed this topic in various daily meditations, when the Biblical texts have lent themselves to it. There are also many books that deal with this subject.

Therefore, in this reflection, I will not address the signs that precede the manifestation of the Antichrist in general, but rather I will focus on two painful current situations in which the anti-Christian spirit has become concretely evident worldwide and has deceived many people.

Although I have spoken in detail about these two situations on other occasions, I would like to bring them up again today, since I have the impression that the visible dominion of the Antichrist—and I assume this is the Antichrist who will be revealed at the End Times—is very near.

If these two events are not identified as a grave and existential deception of humanity, and if the appropriate conclusions are not drawn, it will likely be much more difficult to recognize the global deception that is coming with the arrival of the Antichrist, the “son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3).

Part I

THE ANTICHRIST

The Holy Scriptures testify that the Second Coming of Christ will be preceded by the coming of the Antichrist. In the Second Letter to the Thessalonians, the apostle Saint Paul writes:

“Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to be easily unsettled or alarmed, either by a revelation or by rumors or by a letter supposedly coming to us, as though the day of the Lord had already begun.” Let no one deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).

We must assume that the manifestation of the Antichrist will be preceded by deceptions that facilitate his rise to power. These deceptions could be so subtle that even believers could fall for them.

Many of the events unfolding in the world and in the Church allow us to recognize the workings of the spirit of the Antichrist. Wherever God’s commandments are contradicted and the coming of the Savior is denied, the influence of the spirit of darkness can be observed. This is, first and foremost, Lucifer himself, who rebelled against God from the beginning and, throughout the centuries, has attempted to lead people astray from the faith and involve them in his own rebellion. As the Apostle Saint John testifies, many antichrists have appeared throughout history (cf. 1 John 2:18), dominated by the Luciferian spirit. The “son of perdition” who will appear at the End Times, before the glorious Return of Christ, will seek to establish his dominion worldwide for as long as God allows. He will even want to receive messianic worship.

In his famous book, A Short Account of the Antichrist ¹, the Russian author Vladimir Soloviev describes how the Antichrist manages to deceive many people and even win over most Christians.

It is evident that the loss of Christian faith is proliferating. How many people still cling to God’s commandments and the teachings of Christ as binding norms for their conduct? When we consider this question, we realize that a great apostasy is taking hold of human society and has even deeply penetrated the Church itself.

How can we defend ourselves?

The best antidote to these deceptions is to remain steadfast in Catholic doctrine and practice, as transmitted by the apostles and clearly expressed in the dogmas of the Catholic Church. If this steadfastness is accompanied by a profound spiritual life and understanding, it will be an effective shield against all attempts to relativize, disregard, distort, or even adulterate the faith. Behind all these pretensions one can identify the Adversary, that is, the same spirit that will dominate the Antichrist.

However, a pressing question remains: Will we be able to identify the “son of perdition”? Who will warn people? What is the connection between the global coronavirus deception, the occupation of the See of Peter, and the Antichrist’s apparent rise to power?

Part II

THE GREAT CORONAVIRUS HOAX

This is a complex topic, about which much information can be obtained through alternative media, revealing the extent to which the vaccine and other government measures against the coronavirus have interfered with the lives of many people. Official media outlets either remain silent on this issue or adhere to the widespread narrative that spread the deceptions surrounding COVID-19.

Below, I will highlight just a few points—many more could be listed—to summarize what happened during the so-called pandemic²:

– In the face of a fearsome pandemic that would supposedly claim countless victims, pressure was exerted on many people from the end of 2020 to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and various measures were imposed that restricted their freedom. However, from the outset, this vaccine was questionable.

– Let’s remember that it normally takes a minimum of eight years to develop a vaccine. However, the coronavirus vaccine was made available in record time. Animal trials and other essential experiments were omitted. This already demonstrates irresponsible handling of the vaccine and, therefore, poses a risk to people’s health.

– It was promised everywhere that, once vaccinated, one would not contract the virus or infect others. However, both claims turned out to be false.

– With the help of the media, a catastrophic health crisis was portrayed, when in reality the mortality rate was no higher than that of a moderately severe flu epidemic.

– Let’s remember that there were renowned scientists who questioned the benefits of the vaccine and pointed out its dangers, but they were marginalized and, on more than one occasion, labeled as “conspiracy theorists.” Open debate and questioning of the measures taken were not allowed. Furthermore, the use of alternative remedies to combat the virus was prevented.

– Many people lost their jobs or even their basic livelihood simply for refusing vaccination.

– Let’s remember that almost everyone who died during that period was classified as having died from coronavirus, without any proof. It was a hoax!

– Let’s remember that for a time churches were closed and worshippers were excluded from services. Furthermore, measures were taken to prevent the dying from receiving visits from their families.

– Everywhere, the use of masks was requested and even required, even though they didn’t actually protect either the wearer or others from infection. This created a grotesque scene, even in places of worship.

– As Catholics, let us remember that, from the beginning, at least some shepherds of sound doctrine warned the faithful about the use of vaccines in whose manufacture or testing phase cell lines from aborted children had been used³. For many of the faithful, this fact presented an insurmountable ethical impediment, despite the Vatican publishing a statement declaring that “the fundamental reason for considering the use of these vaccines morally licit is that the type of cooperation with the evil of induced abortion from which these cell lines originate, on the part of those who use the resulting vaccines, is remote.” ⁴

– Let us also remember that the Vatican later declared that vaccination would be an “act of love for one’s neighbor,” which amounted to indirect coercion for the faithful to submit to the vaccine⁵.

– Let us remember and acknowledge that vaccines caused suffering and even death to many people. Furthermore, their components can continue to act in the body long-term, causing more suffering and death. Added to this is the serious suspicion that mRNA vaccines may interfere with human genetics.

It is necessary to acknowledge that the deception surrounding the coronavirus has not been clarified at all, neither in the political nor the ecclesiastical spheres.

In this context, a serious question must be asked: how was a deception of such magnitude possible, one that engulfed a large part of humanity and cast its shadow across the globe like a nightmare? Why did almost all governments, media outlets, religious denominations, and institutions cooperate and unanimously announce the need for vaccination, turning it almost into dogma?

If behind all this there is a power capable of deceiving almost everyone in the world and preventing the deception from being exposed so that people don’t open their eyes, then it must be the “father of lies,” the adversary of God and humankind, whom the Holy Scriptures call “Satan.”

Undoubtedly, many people were caught up in this deception or even collaborated without being aware of what was happening. However, from an objective point of view, it was a grave crime against humanity. Since it has not been clarified, new deceptions can spread and cause harm to people. This generates a kind of blindness that prevents people from recognizing what is happening. Through a false obedience to authority, people also become prone to falling for further deceptions.

Part III

THE OCCUPATION OF THE PETRINE SEE

With the election of the Argentinian Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who took the name Francis for his pontificate, modernism, which had already subtly infiltrated the Catholic Church, was legitimized. While the popes before the Second Vatican Council unequivocally condemned modernism and considered it a great danger to the faith and the Church, Francis became an instrument willing to adapt the faith to the world’s mentality in many respects. Thus, our holy faith was undermined and weakened from within, and the poison of false doctrines and heteropractice was able to spread. I have published several writings on this subject⁶.

In many areas, a nefarious alliance between Church and State emerged, which became especially evident during the coronavirus crisis. The anti-Christian spirit, which can wreak havoc in the world and promote policies in accordance with its intentions with hardly any resistance, had now managed to reach the highest levels of the ecclesiastical hierarchy.

To carry out this “modernization,” a different path was attempted within the Church, a “synodal process” intended to transform it. Clearly, the anti-Christian spirit is no longer limited to destroying the Church, but seeks to create a “different Church” that can serve its own purposes.

Contrary to the hopes of some Catholic faithful, the course taken during Francis’s pontificate continued after his death with the accession of Leo XIV. It is true that the form of governance changed, becoming more acceptable to the faithful. However, this cannot obscure the fact that the pernicious course continues and is therefore becoming entrenched. There was no substantial change or departure from the line of his predecessor. Rather, the Church’s witness is increasingly weakened by its adaptation to the world, thus losing its prophetic voice.

With few exceptions, there are no longer any pastors in the Church hierarchy to warn the faithful of the threat of the wolves. Consequently, the world is also deprived of that voice which could offer a supernatural perspective on its often conflict-ridden situation. The authoritative proclamation of the Gospel has been replaced by a dialogue that no longer aims to prepare the ground for the message of faith and, therefore, for people to recognize the true Messiah, but rather presents all religions as parallel paths to God. In this way, the Lord’s missionary mandate is renounced, and people are deprived of the full witness to the truth.

A distorted and usurped Petrine ministry no longer represents an obstacle to the manifestation of the Antichrist. Rather, it will be used by the “son of perdition” for his own purposes. Thus, the greatest adversary of the “enthronement” of a false messiah has been sidelined.

Instead of warning the faithful and preparing them for spiritual combat against anti-Christian powers, appointed pastors no longer even identify the enemy, for it has penetrated the very heart of the Church. In this way, the great good of obedience, which is ultimately directed toward God, can be abused. Consequently, the ecclesiastical hierarchy, including its highest representative, becomes a danger to the faithful, who fall into increasing blindness on the misguided path they have embarked upon.

The faithful face a grave emergency. They must defend their faith even within the Church. This reality leads them into a spiritual desert, in which groups will emerge firmly attached to apostolic tradition and the authentic doctrine of the Church. They will be unwilling to compromise on the truth or cooperate with those forces that, consciously or unconsciously, are led astray by anti-Christian errors.

Conclusion

The reason I have addressed these two topics is that I believe both deceptions have been orchestrated and exploited by the powers of darkness.

A large part of the world’s population has been vaccinated and, therefore, has been the victim of a deception. Probably, to this day, many have not realized it. However, the deception surrounding the coronavirus has made it clear that one cannot blindly trust the authorities, but rather must carefully examine the orders that come from them.

Unfortunately, this must also apply to ecclesiastical authorities. Many Catholics are unaware, or not sufficiently aware, of the disastrous course the Church has taken, and only a few draw the necessary conclusions upon realizing it.

It is to be feared that these two great deceptions will also serve to pave the way for the coming of the Antichrist. That is why we must be very vigilant to detect the moment when these anti-Christian forces, which are acting with increasing intensity in the world and in the Church, focus on promoting a specific person to a high-ranking position.

We cannot in any way follow the “son of perdition”!
