Recognized by the Lord – Feast of St. Bartholomew, Apostle

Jn 1:45-51

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him: We have found him of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets did write, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth. And Nathanael said to him: Can anything of good come from Nazareth? Philip saith to him: Come and see. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him: and he saith of him: Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile. Read More

The mild reign of Mary

Lk 1:26-38

Reading for the feast Queenship of Mary

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favor! The Lord is with you.’ Read More

HOLY CARELESSNESS

423rd Meditation

“Entrust everything to me and be completely without worry” (Inner Word).

Trust and carelessness go hand in hand when the relationship with our Heavenly Father becomes deeper and deeper. Many things want to weigh us down and worry us, making life difficult for us. But the Lord Himself exhorts us to a holy unconcern: “Be not solicitous for your life, what you shall eat, nor for your body, what you shall put on” (Mt 6:25). Read More

TO PLACE OUR HOPE IN THE LORD

Hope is a theological virtue, which makes us expect from the Lord what we do not yet see. If we place our hope in Him, the Father can transform our hearts. This is what He tells us in the Message to Mother Eugenia:

“Remember, o men, that I wish to be the hope of humanity. Am I not already? Man would be lost if I were not his hope. But it is necessary for Me to be recognized as such, so that peace, confidence and love may enter men’s hearts and put them in contact with their Father in heaven and on earth!” Read More

The seduction of false gods

Jdg 2:11-19

The children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they served Baalim.  And they left the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt: and they followed strange gods, and the gods of the people that dwelt round about them, and they adored them: and they provoked the Lord to anger.  Forsaking him, and serving Baal and Astaroth.  Read More

The first love of God

Rom 11: 3-15,29-32

For I say to you, Gentiles: as long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry, if, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them. For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? For the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance. For as you also in times past did not believe God, but now have obtained mercy, through their unbelief; so these also now have not believed, for your mercy, that they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded all in unbelief, that he may have mercy on all.  Read More

LOOK UP TO THE FATHER FROM THE CROSS OF THE WORLD

421st Meditation

“Lift up your eyes with me to the Father from the cross of this world, which causes so much suffering” (Interior Word).

Whoever has eyes to see and ears to hear will certainly perceive that dark times are coming upon the world as well as upon the Church. Because of the loss of faith and the lack of clear orientation on the part of the Church, fewer and fewer rays of light are shining on the world, which so urgently needs the light of the Church. Sin and confusion proliferate. It often happens that sin is no longer called by its name and even a diabolical inversion of values can occur. Read More
