“Do you wish to gain victory over your enemy? Call upon me and you will triumph over him.” (Message from God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio)
In reality, we have enemies who envy our lives and, even more, the state of grace in which we find ourselves when we sincerely strive to follow the Lord. The main enemy is the devil, as St. Paul makes clear in his Letter to the Ephesians (6:12). But the world hostile to God, with its many seductions, and our fallen nature, with its disordered passions, are also our enemies, for they seek to separate us from God. Against all of them, the promise of our Father applies, who does not leave us alone in the struggle, but desires to triumph with us and within us over everything that would deprive us of the grace He has granted.
Although this struggle is often painful and demands great effort, we will rejoice when it finally ends in eternity. In His wisdom, our Father allows it for our good. Moreover, through it, we can participate in actualizing the victory that our Lord won on the cross for humanity and bear fruit throughout the earth. Thus, the cross of inevitable combat becomes an honorable task in the service of the Lord, for which He will reward us.
The key is to invoke our Father. It is precisely when we experience our weakness and recognize our inferiority to the fallen angels—if we rely only on our own strength—that we become more receptive to God’s intervention and help. Then we will know that it was our Father’s grace that enabled us to emerge victorious in the battles. This, in turn, awakens our gratitude and humility, if we do not forget to whom we owe the victory. Our Father’s wisdom therefore considers our own good, so that we may be preserved from the temptation of pride and love Him even more.
