107th Meditation on God the Father
“The missionaries have spoken and still speak of God as far as they know Him, but I assure you, you do not know Me as I am, because I am coming to proclaim Myself the Father of all and the most tender of fathers, in order to transform your love, which has become distorted by fear” (Father’s Message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).
The words we heard yesterday from Father’s Message urged us to bear witness to “how sweet it is to live in truth”. The passage we meditate on today shows us how important it is to also transmit the right image of God.
Here we can see the deep motivation of our Heavenly Father for the “work of love” that He came to accomplish among us through Mother Eugenia: to make Himself known as He really is, since we do not yet know Him sufficiently. Even the missionaries, who have spoken and continue to speak of our Father, have not yet recognized the full depth of His love, but can only bear witness to the extent that they themselves know Him.
For this reason, the Father comes personally to our aid, bringing us this Message and asking that it be spread. Indeed, when one reads the booklet “The Father speaks to his children” (https://www.fatherspeaks.net/eugenia_msg.html) – and perhaps also the “3 minutes for Abba” contribute to this – our Father becomes closer to us. We must lose any fear of Him, without falling into excessive familiarity.
The importance of this deeper encounter with God is evident. Our Father wants to convince us all of His fatherly love and for us to be the messengers of this love. This is His deepest desire! If we come closer to the flame of His love, His desire will also become our burning desire, under the influence of the Holy Spirit. In this way, the Father takes it upon Himself to heal our lack of love for Him and to correct and perfect the love we offer Him, which is often distorted by fear. Let us remember that our Lord’s greatest intention was to glorify the Father.
Precisely in these dark times, our Father’s offer is a shining ray of light, capable of dispelling the darkness. His offer is there for every person!
