VIGILANCE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GRACES

“I constantly offer you new graces and remind you of those that you let pass without taking advantage of them for your souls” (Message from God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

Our Father’s loving concern for us is unsurpassed. Who could deny this once they have learned to see life from God’s perspective? Before today’s phrase, our Father reminds us in the message that He has granted us the great treasure of our soul, which comes from Him. From the moment a person enters the world, that person carries this treasure within—this beauty that comes from God and makes the soul resemble Him.

Our Father wants to enrich this treasure further by offering us gifts. He cares more for the soul than for the body, because the body is subject to corruption. Yet even though the body is temporary, it does not escape His loving care. The Father grants us air, rain, sun, cold, heat, and everything we need for our natural life. For the life of the soul, our Father has provided commandments, prayer, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and many other graces out of His love for us.

If we internalize His Providence, we will not have to worry, but rather remain attentive to recognize the graces the Lord offers us and cooperate with them. When our Father reminds us of the graces we have wasted, He does so to give us the opportunity to regain what we have lost and even to do more. Repenting for letting them pass and for not taking advantage of the “hour of grace” will make us more vigilant so that we do not waste God’s blessings again. At the same time, this increases our love, as we recognize what the Lord would have wanted to give us. Therefore, it is important to praise our Father’s generosity and grow in love for Him. Humility, in turn, teaches us to ask Him persistently for help so that next time we do not let His graces pass us by.
