VICTORY OVER THE ENEMY

105th Meditation on God the Father

“Do you wish to gain victory over your enemy? Call upon Me and you will triumph over him” (Father’s Message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

In His Message, our Father does not leave aside the dimension of spiritual combat, because, in fact, we do have enemies. These are, first of all, the fallen angels, who try to include us in their rebellion against God or, at least, to hinder our journey with the Lord.

To invoke the name of the Father means that His light comes to us and the darkness must give way. Satan cannot stand the light of God, because his intentions are always impure; whereas in our Father there is no shadow at all (1Jn 1:5).

The powers of darkness cannot love, and that is why the sincere invocation of the name of the Father will drive them away.

The devil is a limited creature; the Father is the Creator of all that exists.

God offers us the means to obtain victory over these enemies. It is not only a matter of defending ourselves from their attacks; it is also a matter of weakening the attacks when they try to influence us. By invoking the name of our Heavenly Father, they will be confronted with God Himself and their plans will fail. What is more: every time we repel these attacks in the Lord, we ourselves are strengthened as “warriors of the Lamb” (cf. Rev 17:14):

“Our help is the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Ps 124:8).

But this offer of the Father extends even beyond our personal protection.

When we see the misery around us, when we perceive the destruction caused by the powers of darkness, we must not passively endure this situation, but we must call upon our Father to drive away the darkness. If we do this consciously, we participate in the victory of the Lord and render an important service for the Kingdom of God.

Demons are the enemies of all mankind. Therefore, we must engage with fearlessness and with trust in the Lord in the battle that must be fought by all those who want to serve the Lord. The Father tells us how to win the victory, and He fights for us!
