TRUTH AND FREEDOM

“As long as man does not live in the truth, he cannot taste real freedom” (Message of God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

True freedom consists in living according to God’s Will. Anything that separates us from Him inevitably leads to a lack of freedom because, as the Father says in His message, we are then outside the true law, for obedience to which He created us. Consequently, we live in opposition to the deepest meaning of our existence and cannot enjoy the fruits of true freedom, which our Father can only give us in fullness if we live according to His Will.

We know that it is our Father’s desire that all people should taste true freedom. Is it not true that the call for freedom is often heard in society, but the conditions necessary to attain it are seldom fulfilled? Can man experience true happiness and inner peace as long as he does not live his existence and vocation as God has planned them from all eternity? Certainly not.

That is why it is so important that evangelisation shows people the true freedom that Our Lord’s message brings. Man needs a profound liberation by God in order to break the chains that still bind him.

In the message to Mother Eugenia, Our Father speaks specifically of liberation from fear of Him and from a false reverence which, far from being the foundation of a loving relationship with God, enslaves man. Truth and freedom go together. If we strive day by day to live in the truth, we will also increasingly gain that freedom which will bring lasting joy and peace to our lives.
