TRUST WITHOUT LIMITS

“Trust me without limits, and you will experience the miracle of my guidance day after day.” (Inner Word)

Without a doubt, a lack of trust is an obstacle that prevents many of the things our Father desires to accomplish in our lives. It also keeps us from clearly seeing what He has already done—and continues to do—on our behalf each day. As a result, we struggle to recognize the wisdom with which God guides our lives. We are often preoccupied with the misfortunes that befall us or that we fear might befall us. Simply put, this prevents us from recognizing God’s work. Even though we say with our lips that God holds everything in His hands, there is often a lingering uncertainty that limits us.

That is why our Father exhorts us to trust without limits. This trust does not stop at our own boundaries, even when they are painful. Certainly, our Father does not assume that we have already reached the condition of angels or saints who are fully purified, as if there were no longer any obstacles between Him and us. One day we will reach that state—and even in this life, we can grow closer to it. But our Father invites us to trust precisely in situations of darkness, when we do not understand until later why God allowed them.

To trust without limits means letting go of all earthly securities and surrendering ourselves completely to God. Every day belongs to Him, and our only task is to do His will. If we sincerely strive to do so, we build our house on a solid foundation. We will no longer be consumed by incessant thoughts, ponderings, fantasies, inner debates, and so on—things that trap us within ourselves. Instead, we will fix our gaze on our Father and know that, in His providence, He has prepared everything. Day by day, we will be able to surrender ourselves without reserve to the miracle of His fatherly guidance, recognizing more and more the wisdom with which God has arranged all things. Our eyes will be opened to the miracle of His guidance, and we will see that our Father has thought of everything—even those things we will only understand when boundless trust grants us a foretaste of Heaven!
