250th Meditation
“Entrust all things to my Mother” (Interior Word).
When considering the greatest gifts that the Heavenly Father has given us humans, our gaze rests on the Virgin Mary, the Mother of His divine Son.
The Father chose her and entrusted her with the most precious gift, namely the Messiah of all mankind. God involved her in a special way in the plan of salvation of mankind, and with her “yes” to the Will of the Father she opened the way for the Second Person of the Trinity to become flesh in her womb.
What confidence the Father placed in her!
From Sacred Scripture and Tradition we know the various stages in the life of the Virgin Mary. She always adhered fully to the Will of the Father, even when a sword pierced her soul and she gave her “yes” to the suffering of her Son. Her heart loved the Lord beyond measure and the light that emanates from it reveals her as most worthy Daughter of the Heavenly Father.
How did the Father look upon this creature of His, whom He could draw so close to Himself and who corresponded with such purity to His love?
The answer is not difficult: our Father loves her as only He can love.
From what has been said so far, the opening words of this meditation are clear. If God Himself entrusted Mary with what is most precious, then everything we do will be in the best of hands if we entrust it to her. She will take care of what we entrust to her with the same faithfulness and care with which she served God Himself. Therefore, we are in good hands if we honour and obey her as our Mother and Intercessor. She will always lead us to glorify God, because “the Almighty has done great things” for her and holy is His Name (Lk 1:49).
