TRUE FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Beloved Father, in today’s Gospel we once again encounter—though indirectly—the powers that rebelled against You. We thank You endlessly, for Your Son has freed humanity from their dominion. Still, we eagerly await the moment when light and darkness will be separated once and for all, and when we will never again be attacked by them for all eternity.

For now, we remain on our earthly journey. When we are faithful to You and proclaim Your Kingdom through our lives and our words, the spirits of evil grow restless and attempt to disturb us. We must endure this and learn to see it as a challenge—an opportunity to resist them with Your strength. Indeed, You do not exempt us from this battle; rather, You want us to face it with determination and vigilance.

Yet we must always be careful not to give these evil spirits too much attention, much less allow ourselves to be fascinated by them, as if we were meant to scrutinize “the deep things of Satan” (cf. Rev 2:24). What could we possibly learn from them, when they do not live in truth or love? Why should we listen to them or let ourselves be impressed by images and films that arise from this dark realm?

Such things do not please You, for whatever demons may say, lies are woven into all their words—even when they quote Sacred Scripture in order to deceive.

No, beloved Father, we want to listen to You alone. You have revealed Your wonderful Word to us, and in Your Son You have shown us the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:3). You have entrusted Your Church with an authentic Magisterium, which we gladly heed when it proclaims the truth without distortion. Every lie and every error wounds our soul. It begins to wither and longs for true nourishment, which You give us in abundance whenever we seek it. We listen to You, Father. That is enough.
