128th Meditation
“Despatch wisdom from the holy heavens, send her forth from your throne of glory to help me and to toil with me and teach me what is pleasing to you” (Wis 9:10).
The Father not only sent His Son into the world, but, together with the Son, He also sent the Holy Spirit to lead us into the fullness of truth (Jn 16:13).
Through the Holy Spirit, the Father communicates to us an interior knowledge of His glory. Through the gift of wisdom, we receive a delightful knowledge of God and His love, which we discover and taste everywhere.
God’s wisdom accompanies us and acts without ceasing. Indeed, it is His love, which never rests and always guides us in our lives, instructing, strengthening and sustaining us; His love, which never departs from us, as long as we do not close ourselves to it.
It is this love, which He Himself has poured into our hearts, that cries out: “Abba, beloved Father” (Gal 4:6) and intercedes for us with ineffable groanings (Rom 8:26). It is this love that enables us to know what pleases the Lord. It is this love that strives to restore order to the erroneous ways of the children of men, to free them from their wanderings, to watch over them, admonishing them and guiding them to the right path.
The Heavenly Father sends His wisdom and establishes through it His glorious throne in our hearts. Indeed, that is where He wants to dwell: in the hearts of His children. There He wants to establish Himself in order to become our all. There He wants to remain to embrace us with His immeasurable love and take us to the eternal Kingdom of His love: there where His own are already waiting for us and awaiting the day when, together with them, we will behold our Father eternally.
