THE TIME IS PRESSING

“Souls need a certain divine touch, and time presses; do not be afraid of anything, I am your Father; I will help you in your efforts and your work. I will sustain you always and make you enjoy, already here below, peace and joy of soul, making your ministry and your zealous works bear fruit” (Message of the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

The patience of our Heavenly Father who waits for us and the urgency of the love that impels to bring people home are not contradictory. Both aspects spring from the same love and are also important for the mission that God entrusts to us.

“Holy impatience” is always thinking up new ways of reaching people and helping them to have such a “divine touch”. She sees the needs of people and knows how important it is for them to meet God. She is driven by our Heavenly Father’s desire that people should reciprocate His love and thus find salvation. It is the Holy Spirit who pushes her and does not allow her to fall into indifference. Thus, “holy impatience” is at the service of the Holy Spirit.

The “holy patience”, for its part, does not give up and does not tire of trying again and again to reach out to people. She knows that man’s response to God’s love cannot be forced. She exercises herself in long-suffering, never flagging in her efforts.

This is our Heavenly Father’s way of being and acting, which we will adopt ever more closely the more intimately we live in union with Him. We begin to see people through God’s eyes. In this way, we lose more and more human respect and fear of the circumstances that might befall us. Our gaze is fixed on the Father – so what can happen to us?

The time is pressing!

Therefore, let us “make the best use of the time”, as the Apostle Paul exhorts us (Eph 5:16). The Father will abundantly bless all the efforts we undertake for the sake of His Kingdom and will make us instruments of His love. Are we allowing ourselves to be moved by the Spirit and not wasting time? People need messengers to proclaim God’s love and to live in coherence with the truth.
