“I would like a great trust to arise between man and his Father in Heaven—a true spirit of familiarity and gentleness, so that my great goodness may not be abused” (Message of God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
After having completed the novena to God the Father, and since today we celebrate the feast in his honor, I would like to bring to our memory this special desire that he transmitted to us in the Message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio. In a sense, it is the foundation on which our relationship with the Heavenly Father is built, a relationship founded on love and truth.
It is about trust, a trust that can and must grow each day, for through it our Father’s love can be poured into our hearts and, on our part, we become ever more receptive to it. At the same time, our capacity to love grows, and our response to God the Father becomes more natural and generous.
In today’s phrase, our Father speaks of the delicacy of this love which, thanks to the work of the Holy Spirit, becomes ever more sensitive. Under the influence of God’s love poured into our hearts (Rom. 5:5), all wrong thoughts, inappropriate feelings, and hardness within us must dissolve. The great familiarity we can have with our Father must not lead us to feel too secure and, consequently, to neglect delicacy in our dealings with Him.
It is a wonderful invitation from our Heavenly Father which is extended to all men without exception. Everyone is called to live as His children and travel the road to eternity with firm trust in His love. Our renewed response to this invitation would be a great gift to our Father on this His feast day.
