THE SPIRIT ALWAYS CALLS AND DRAWS US

“The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let him who hears say, “Come.” And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price (…). Amen. Come, Lord Jesus” (Rev 22:17, 20b).

The Spirit of the Lord is always calling us, inviting us to follow Him and receive all that our heavenly Father has prepared for us. We can freely receive the abundance of graces that the Lord offers us.

The problem is with us, the people, who often ignore God’s call because we are busy with other things. Let us remember the parable of the great banquet that was prepared. The guests did not come, and each one gave a different excuse (Luke 14:16-24).

We all know that the Father does not force us to accept His grace. But if we do not respond to His call of love, an important dimension of our life will remain unfulfilled. How much our Father could do through people, even beyond their personal salvation, if only they would respond to His invitation! Let us recall the words of Jesus: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father” (Jn 14:12).

The Spirit always calls us and leads us out of all adversity into the fullness of life.

The Spirit always calls and draws us out of indifference and lethargy.

The Spirit always calls and draws us to glorify the Heavenly Father.

The Spirit always calls and draws us to follow His motions.

The Spirit always calls and draws us to proclaim the love of the Heavenly Father.

The Spirit always calls and draws us to walk the path of holiness.

The Spirit always calls and draws us to go out to meet the returning Lord.

The Spirit and the Bride are always calling and drawing us to come to the fountain of life and drink from it (Is 12:3).
