THE LOVING TREATMENT OF THE FATHER TOWARDS AN UNGRATEFUL SOUL

The message from the Heavenly Father to Mother Eugenia Ravasio aims to help us get to know God the Father better. One of the most moving passages is when He tells the story of a soul who constantly offended Him with his sins and whom He nevertheless accompanied patiently until the hour of his death. Shortly before dying, this person repented for his life and invoked the Father. I highly recommend reading this passage in its entirety, as it allows one to deeply reflect on the heart of our Father: https://www.dioepadre.org/msg/msg_inglese.pdf (Part I of the message, last two pages). In the following reflections, I will share some phrases from this story for meditation. Our Father says the following about this soul:

“This soul has always been for me like the Prodigal Son. I lavished benefits on this soul, but he wasted all these benefits, all these gifts that his most loving Father provided for him. More than this, he offended Me gravely.”

Here, we see the providential love of our Heavenly Father, who does not withdraw from even a soul that does not welcome Him. Moreover, she offends God with her life and shows no signs of wanting to change. Like so many others, she probably took for granted all the blessings God gave her, never questioning where they came from.

Many of us would probably distance ourselves from such a person in view of such ingratitude, especially if she responded to our generosity with offenses. And that would be understandable!

But how does our Father deal with ingratitude, and what motivates Him?

God sees us differently. Undoubtedly, every rejection of His love hurts Him. No one knows better than He what that means. Yet, God is love, and He never stops loving. Our Father is the light that never stops shining and the truth that never changes.

So He waits!
