THE GREAT LOVE STORY

“What God seeks in you is not words, but the heart” (St. Augustine).

St Augustine, the author of these words, hit the nail on the head. Our heavenly Father is looking for hearts in which He can dwell and reign with His love. When we human beings turn our hearts to God and give them to Him, we receive the peace that only God can give. Our Father has conquered us with His love and will lead us through time into eternity. Our heart has found the One for whom it was made. It is filled with overflowing joy and deep gratitude.

From here the great love story between the Creator and His creature, between God and man, between the Father and His children, begins to unfold for the glory of God and the salvation of mankind.

How wonderful it is also for our Heavenly Father to have found a soul who responds to His love, whom He can now fill and who is willing to cooperate in His great plan of love for mankind! Our Father will not hesitate to include her in the service of love because He knows that a heart that belongs to Him will be infected with His burning love. This is how He leads them to go out with Him in search of those who are in danger of being lost, as well as other souls who are ready to give their whole heart to God.

The Father has found a treasure: the heart that belongs to Him.

And we, who want to remain faithful to Him, are included in the history of God’s love for humanity. This includes not only our astonished admiration for His works, but also our witness to the goodness of our Father, becoming messengers of His love.

This is what God is looking for in us, and this is what we can give Him.
