177th Meditation
The more we love Jesus, the more we love our Heavenly Father, who sent Him into the world. Everything we do to the glory and honour of the Son of God also glorifies the One from whom He proceeds. Through Jesus, we come to the Father (cf. Jn 14:6).
However, the Father desires to be honoured with an own feast and cult, even beyond the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. In his Message to Mother Eugenie, he expresses this desire which is so important to him:
“I recognize that you honour Me in My Son and that there are those who are able to offer everything to Me through My Son, but they are few indeed! Do not believe, though, that in honouring My Son you are not honouring Me! You do, certainly, honour Me, as I live in My Son! Thus, everything that is to His glory is also to My glory!
But I would like to see man honouring his Father and Creator with a special devotion. The more you honour Me, the more you will honour My Son, since, according to My will, He became the Word Incarnate and came among you to make known to you the One Who sent Him”.
We too are invited to honour the First Divine Person: the Father. In glorifying Him, we do the same as Jesus did. If we follow the Lord and seek to be like Him in all things, we must also know and realise His deepest desire: to glorify the Heavenly Father. This fire burns in the Heart of Jesus, and when it is also kindled in our own, it will be our deep and great desire that the Father’s wish for a specific and public worship in His honour will become a reality. Through our constant prayer, we cooperate that this desire of His may be heard by those who have the authority to establish in the Universal Church a Feast in honour of the Father.
