THE FECUNDITY OF LOVE

“Live for me and I will make you fruitful for many souls” (Inner Word).

This word applies to many people. Whenever we give our life completely to our Heavenly Father, so that He can take possession of us in His love, our life becomes fruitful. This fruitfulness is due to the Lord Himself, because every work He does in us will communicate His love to people.

It is not so difficult to live completely for God, thus fulfilling the words of Jesus: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you” (Mt 6:33).

Mother Teresa of Calcutta put it in very simple words, making us understand that the most important thing we can contribute is not to hinder the work of the Holy Spirit.

When we read the Message of God the Father to Mother Eugenia Ravasio, we understand that God does not expect from us great ascetic practices, but the simple trust of a child who wants to serve his Father. Let us imagine a child who, in everything he does, turns to his parents to make sure that they are paying attention to him and that what he is doing is right. This is exactly how we can live with our Heavenly Father!

And here is the secret of great fruitfulness: by trusting God, we increasingly place the reins of our lives in His hands, so that He can fill everything we do with His light. And this applies to all areas of life. There is nothing that cannot be made most fruitful by placing it under God’s guidance. When we learn to accept all things and circumstances with gratitude, love grows in us, and this love bears the most fruit!

The Apostle to the Gentiles tells us: “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful” (1 Cor 13:4).
