335th Meditation
“When that day comes you will ask in my name; and I do not say that I shall pray to the Father for you, because the Father himself loves you for loving me, and believing that I came from God” (Jn 16:26-27).
Jesus has granted us direct access to our beloved Father, and no one goes to the Father except through Him (Jn 14:6).
If we love our Lord with all our heart, this will be the greatest joy for our Heavenly Father, for that is why He sent His Son into the world and, by loving Him, we accomplish what He has arranged for us. It is as simple as that!
This divine simplicity is to shape our lives. Our Father does not complicate our life or make it difficult for us, and in eternity we will experience this simplicity of divine love without restriction.
However, there are people who find it difficult to believe, and the reasons for this are not always obvious. After all, faith is a divine gift. If we think we have not received it and this saddens us, then God is already at work in our soul, because we feel that something is lacking and would like to attain it.
If this is how we feel, let us simply take a step and say, “Father, I want to believe”; or else, “Father, I want to love.”
Let us do this even if we feel nothing and are kind of dull inside. In His infinite generosity, our Father will see such an act as if we already believe and love. And, indeed, we already do, even if it is under the burden of our earthly existence. Our will is here the power of love.
In the Message to Mother Eugenia, the Father tells us, even if we feel cold and indifferent, to call him by the name of “Father”. Let us simply do so, even if we do not experience elevated feelings in doing so. God will count it as merit!
If we believe in Jesus with our heart and our will, we will be a joy to our Heavenly Father.
