“Would not this love that you offer me [as children], under My impulse, become an active love, extending itself to the rest of humanity who still do not know this Christian society and who know even less Him Who created them and is their Father?” (Father’s Message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).
Do we really have the great desire that people know our Father, His infinite love for all people and the work He has done to manifest it, that is, the work of Redemption in Jesus Christ, our Lord?
If we can say “yes” with all our hearts and want to know and love Him as dear children, then our Heavenly Father advises us to simply live as His children. Everything else follows from this, because if we live as children of God, the Holy Spirit will impel us to do good in all the areas entrusted to us.
As children of God, we can, like St. Therese of Lisieux, take advantage of God’s “weakness” to ask Him for everything we need for the mission.
As children of God, we can return to the heart of God with repentance and without delay after mistakes and failures.
As children of God, joy in Him becomes natural and a source of constant renewal.
As children of God, we are urged to tell everyone how good our Father is, how wonderful our Savior is, how trustworthy our divine Friend and Master, the Holy Spirit, how sweet the Mother of God is.
As children of God, we do not give up when we see that the way will cost us great sacrifices and there seems to be no way out. We do not give up because our Father does not give up in His struggle for us, because our Lord fulfilled His mission to the end, because the Holy Spirit will always help us and strengthen us.
So it is with the children of God!
