PARTAKERS OF THE OMNIPOTENCE OF GOD

“You know that I can do all things by virtue of my omnipotence. I offer this omnipotence to all of you so that you may make use of it in time and in eternity” (Message of the Father to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).

What does our Father mean when He offers us His omnipotence to make use of it?

We know very well that God is omnipotent, because the Gospel clearly tells us that “with God nothing will be impossible” (Lk 1:37). Our faith assures us that He always uses His omnipotence for good; that is, He never misuses it, as Lucifer did with the gifts the Lord had given him.

The omnipotence that God offers to His own is not, therefore, a magical power to which one can resort with certain formulas and by performing certain rites. It is Lucifer who pretends to offer such powers to men, deceiving them and making them dependent on him.

Our Father’s offering, on the other hand, comes from love. As God exercises His omnipotence, so must we. We see this in the authority that the Lord has given to His Church. It is always an authority of love! Even when He has to take action against people who have committed grave sins, the aim is to bring them to conversion and to protect them from greater evils.

The divine omnipotence offered to us has as a condition that it be exercised in the Spirit of the Lord. Let us look at the apostles of Jesus who, in His name, were able to heal the sick, raise the dead, deliver the possessed, and perform miracles of every kind.

The same is true for all of us. Participation in the omnipotence of God is for good, for the expansion of the Kingdom of God, and for the defense against the powers of darkness.

Our Father invites us to make use of this omnipotence and to exercise it in faith.
