Our Father’s love is poured out upon us especially through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, whose worthy celebration and participation He commends to us. Here again we are the recipients and the guests – as long as we are in a state of grace – and we simply give God the opportunity to shower us with His goodness, as He is so fond of doing.
Thus He tells us in the Message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio:
“Through this Sacrament you are intimately united with Me. It is in this intimacy that the outpouring of My love makes My holiness spread into your souls” (Father’s Message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
Then, if our soul is properly prepared and we go to receive Holy Communion, our Lord enters into it with all His glory and unites Himself to us. Thus, during our earthly life, unification with God at the sacramental level can already take place, and this must mark our whole life. Indeed, the goal of following Christ, the Son of God, is full union with the Will of the Father. Although this goal can only be fully attained in eternity, without anything separating us from God, we can come closer to it day by day…
The Father has left us the Holy Mass and the reception of communion as a way to Him and from Him to us, and in it He has given us a visible sign of His love. On the one hand, He simply wants to fill us with Himself; on the other hand, He invites us to cooperate with this gift. The Father wants us to advance step by step in our sanctification, as He makes us to understand in these words:
“I fill you with My love, then you have only to ask Me for the virtues and perfection you need and you can be sure that in those moments when God is reposing in His creatures, nothing will be refused you” (Message of the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
