“Wherever you are, that is my heaven. Whether you are eating, sleeping, or doing anything else, my dwelling place is always in you.”
With great tenderness, the Lord addressed these words to St. Matilda, and what He says to her is true. Our Father seeks His heaven in our souls and never loses sight of us. This is true for everyone, but He can only establish His dwelling place in souls that live in a state of grace. Until then, the Lord never ceases to call them back home to find His heaven within them.
What a blessed life we can already lead here on earth when these words of the Lord become a reality in us, when we know that He, our Father, is always with us and that it brings Him immense joy!
The Lord’s heaven is our soul. What does this mean? It means that His love finds the response it seeks so that it can be communicated to us. We, in turn, are in a good disposition to welcome all the graces He has prepared for us. What joy for us and for our Father!
I would like to say something to our Father about us, the faithful:
“Father, we know that you seek us with infinite love. We can only understand this from the perspective of your love because we still discover so many things within ourselves that we find not at all pleasant. But You know how to deal with these weaknesses. You always think of us. We too would like to always think of You in all that we do, say, think, and feel. We never want to lose You from our sight or hearts because You are our heaven. Could you help us? We often remain so distracted!”
