“JESUS’ GAZE UPON THE FATHER (I)”

Beloved Father, today I would like to share with those who follow “3 Minutes for Abba” a wonderful event with which You have blessed our community. Some of them may already be familiar with it; others will be hearing about it for the first time.

It happened on April 7, 2023, Good Friday of that year, at 9 a.m.—the hour when the crucifixion of Your Son began to redeem humanity. As is customary in the Catholic Church during Passiontide, the large crucifix in our chapel was covered with a purple veil.

One of our sisters was in the chapel praying. Suddenly, she saw the Face of Your divine Son begin to form on the veil. Its appearance and dimensions were entirely different from those of the veiled crucifix. Astonished by this event, which made the presence of Your Son, our Lord, so visible, we thought at first that it was a sign granted to us to meditate on the Passion during the Holy Days and that it would disappear at Easter.

But that was not the case! To this very day we can contemplate the Face of Your Son, whose gaze is lifted toward You. It is a suffering Face, yet increasingly transfigured. It is beautiful, and for all of us who have been able to see it, it is a consolation and an invitation to love You.

An inner word from Your Son gave us even greater clarity to understand this event:

“Lift your gaze with Me toward the Father, and all will be well, whatever may come. The path will always pass through suffering, but this suffering will bear fruit for My Kingdom. It is a suffering that will not oppress you or lead you to despair. It is a suffering that will ennoble you and lead you to the deepest depths. Bear this suffering with dignity and serenity, and it will become a great treasure that will contribute to the redemption of humanity, just as your friend Paul said. In this suffering for the world, you will always find refuge in Me and in My Father, for I brought all the suffering of the world before My Father and sealed it with My death.”

Tomorrow we will return to this topic.
