124th Meditation
“And to you who will work for My glory and commit yourselves to making Me known, honoured and loved, I give the assurance that your reward will be great, because I will count everything, even the smallest effort you make, and I will reward you a hundredfold in eternity” (Father’s Message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
Our Father makes us see that it is very important for Him to expand the “work of love” that He came to accomplish among us. Through the words of Mother Eugenia to the Pope at that time, our Father speaks of the primacy of this work, which is a special grace for this time, related to great promises: that there will be authentic and lasting conversions, that true peace will come, that the worship of the Holy Church will be completed…
The Father is mindful of each person who does His work and will never forget even the slightest effort we have made for it. “Blessed are those who die in the Lord! Blessed indeed, the Spirit says; now they can rest for ever after their work, since their good deeds go with them” (Rev 14:13).
Nothing that we have done for the Lord and for His glory will be forgotten. “At the evening of life we will be judged on love alone,” St. John of the Cross tells us.
When we understand that knowing and loving God is the deepest meaning of our existence, we adhere to the most important mission that has been entrusted to us and which is inscribed in our hearts by love: to serve our Heavenly Father.
There is nothing more important for us than to meet God and receive the salvation He offers. Regardless of the path that leads us to this encounter of the Lord’s call, we will be cooperating in the building of the Kingdom of God on earth. In this way, we can work side by side with the architect of this work and receive from Him the reward.
This craftsman, who is our Heavenly Father Himself, does not allow Himself to be outdone in gratitude or generosity. He takes into account even our smallest efforts and considers them as a declaration of love to Him and to humankind. He reciprocates them with His love and will count it all, to reward us a hundredfold in eternity.
Of what does this reward consist? The greatest reward will be to spend forever without limit in the presence of God. We have every reason to hope that, if we sincerely serve our Father, we will be very close to Him in eternity. By responding to His invitation, we are doing our part to achieve this goal.
