I WILL EMBRACE YOU FROM THE CROSS

“Contemplate attentively with the eyes of your spirit how I hang from the cross, with My arms outstretched so that I can embrace you every time you come to Me” (Dionysius the Carthusian).

There, on the cross of His Son, the Father revealed to us the depth of His love. The Redeemer’s invitation, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28), comes from the depths of the Father’s heart and makes us understand that “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16).

Here is Love hanging on the cross, which desires nothing more than to be welcomed by you, by me, and by all people. The Redeemer is always ready to embrace us and draw us to Himself. He makes us understand that He loves us infinitely, for you, me, and all people have been placed in His hands by the Father, so that He may make us worthy to participate in the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.

The cross remains standing, His arms remain outstretched, and the Savior’s love never tires of calling all people, because He gave His life for each one of them. No one is excluded; everyone can come to Him as often as they want. If they accept His love and the forgiveness He offers them on the cross, they will attain salvation.

As long as the cross remains upright, hope remains alive, because the Lord did not come down from it, but persevered until He had accomplished everything (Jn 19:30). And all who come to Him in faith can live in the favor of the Heavenly Father and must proclaim to others where Love is, waiting to embrace them. They can and must come to Him!
