I HAVE COME TO MAKE MYSELF KNOWN

327th Meditation

“The missionaries have spoken and still speak of God as far as they know Him, but I assure you, you do not know Me as I am, because I am coming to proclaim Myself the Father of all” (Father’s message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

Here, the Father explains one of the reasons why He wants to make Himself known to mankind through Mother Eugenia Ravasio. Evidently, the true image of our Father has not yet sufficiently penetrated the souls of people. The devil has managed that an imperfect, distorted and false image of God persists, even in those Christians who already follow the Lord.

Let us remember that, in the temptation of our first parents in Paradise, the serpent conveyed to them a false image of God, leading them to turn away from Him.

That is why it is so important that we read and internalise again and again the words of the Father’s Message, in which He declares His love to us. There are also numerous passages in Sacred Scripture that speak to us of the Father’s love. And, of course, the intimate dialogue with our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom the Father is (Jn 14:10), will be particularly important to correct the false images we may still have of Him.

The desert fathers, who led a life of deep intimacy with the Lord, recommend repeating the word of God over and over again, so that it may penetrate deeply into the soul. We should put this advice into practice, if it can help us to accept more deeply the love of our Father.

We could, for example, choose these words of the Prophet Jeremiah or another appropriate passage, moving them again and again in our hearts, as the Virgin Mary did (cf. Lk 2:19). In this way, they can become for us like a prayer of the heart and penetrate the depths of our being:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love and so I still maintain my faithful love for you” (Jer 31:3).
