“Though an army pitch camp against me, my heart will not fear, though war break out against me, my trust will never be shaken” (Ps 27:3).
Our Father does not exempt us from the combat in which we are immersed as long as our earthly life lasts. But He does have our backs. No one who wants to walk the path of holiness, to which we are all called, will be able to escape this struggle. If anyone evades it, they have already lost the battle.
Therefore, we must not give up in any situation of life, whatever it may be. Even if we suffer under our weaknesses and again and again fall short of what we have set out to do, we must not lose confidence. Let us simply remember that our Father knows a way out of every situation.
If our sins oppress us, He leads us to the Throne of His mercy.
If our weaknesses afflict us, He instructs us in the way of humility.
If fears invade us, He gives us encouragement.
If we feel lonely and abandoned, He is our consolation.
If an enemy army attacks us, He strengthens our heart.
If we are called to attack enemy strongholds, He puts in our hands the sling of David to overcome them.
If we embark on an evil path, He sends His angel to stop us.
If our strength is exhausted, He carries us on His shoulders.
If we see no way out, He is the only way out.
If we feel that our heart is cold, He offers us His.
Let us never lose confidence; our Father is always there to save us!
