HEARTS THAT UNDERSTAND ME

“What do I desire to achieve with this work of love, if not to find hearts able to understand Me?” (Message from God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio)

In this sentence, we see that our Father does not ask much knowledge of us, but rather love. Human beings rejoice when we find someone who understands us—even if that understanding is always limited. When we do, a deeper unity with the other person emerges.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to know Him and understand His deepest motivations. His immeasurable love must touch our hearts and awaken us. The message to Mother Eugenia Ravasio is a radiant example of this. With ever-new words and repetitions, God the Father declares His love for us and explains how He communicates it to us in many ways.

In a sense, we come to understand His “need.” The almighty and holy God does not need anything, but He longs for the desire of His heart to be fulfilled—to implant His love ever more deeply in human beings.

When hearts begin to understand our Father, they see everything in a different light. They recognize that everything comes from our Father’s love. Yet He must contend with shadows, darkness, confusion, and a layer of ice that has dulled our hearts and made them unreceptive.

What happens when our Father finds a heart that understands Him? He can entrust it with the secrets of His heart and draw it deeper into the mystery of His love. He will also share His concern for the salvation of souls with it.

That heart will understand Him more and more, because God’s love has found a place in it. Over time, all shadows will give way. That grateful heart will say “yes” to God, and the fire of divine love will be kindled within it. A deep joy will dwell within it, and it will itself become a source of joy for God. Our Father has found a heart that understands Him, and now He will invite it to seek out others.
