‘Go deep and immerse yourself again and again in me. Then you will find the inner guidance you need’ (Inner Word).
Our Father will never leave us without His guidance. He can reveal it to us in various ways. In today’s sentence, God urges us to go within ourselves. When we seek Him and perceive Him in our soul, when we immerse ourselves in Him and remain there, we make it easy for our Father to communicate His Will to us. The various influences and distractions from outside diminish. The more we have learned to distinguish the voice of God whispering within us from the impulses of our nature or even from the dark side, the easier it will be for us to understand His instructions.
In order not to be deceived, there are also objective criteria that help us to distinguish the voice of the Lord from other voices or impulses. Our Father’s guidelines are always imbued with the light of truth and can never contradict Sacred Scripture or the authentic teaching of the Church. Although they may take us beyond reason, they are not irrational.
If we move within this framework predetermined by God, we must accept the invitation He expresses to us today and ask our Father within us for advice and guidance. In this way, our familiarity with the Lord will also grow, and our inner ears and attention will become more acute in perceiving His voice.
Certainly, this advice is especially important when we are faced with important decisions and crossroads in life. But it is also good to examine before God those things that, in our eyes, do not seem to be of decisive importance.
