GREAT SIMPLICITY

419th Meditation

“I know your needs, your desires, and everything in your hearts. But how happy and grateful I would be if I saw you coming to Me and confiding in Me your needs, like a son who has total trust in his father. How could I refuse you the smallest or biggest thing if you asked Me?” (Father’s message to Sr. Eugenia Ravasio).

If we assimilate and interiorize these words of our Heavenly Father, our life is clothed in a great simplicity. We have a Father whose great love is us and whose deep desire is that we know this love, embrace it and live in it.

So what is the change that happens when we really live this way? All the wonderful words of Scripture begin to make sense:

“Thou hast known my sitting down, and my rising up. Thou hast understood my thoughts afar off” (Ps 138:2).

“Freely you have received it, give it freely” (Mt 10:8).

“Be not solicitous for tomorrow” (Mt 6:34).

We discover countless examples of our Father’s Providence and His care for our spiritual and corporal life, which make our existence fruitful. We recognize more and more the presence of God and understand that our life is part of the plan of a holy love.

People who were suffering from painful loneliness experience the joy of a friendship with their divine Father. They will never be lonely again, and thus regain the joy of living.

Indeed, that is what our Father wants: that we turn to Him with all our desires, whether big or small. We are never a burden to Him nor do we come at an inopportune time. We will never be rejected by God. On the contrary, our Father is waiting and loves it when we approach Him with great trust. We make Him happy when we do so, because He wants to see this trust and naturalness between Him and His children become a reality.

What an invitation, we just have to accept it!
