GOD’S ONLY REQUEST

“Do not let me suffer from the coldness of your hearts toward a Father Who asks only for the one grace for Himself, so that through that same grace He may shower you with all blessings.” (Message from God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio)

If we allow ourselves to be touched by Who is asking us for this “favor” and how He does so, all false images of God would dissipate within us. Only a Father full of love, in Whom there is nothing contrary to love, can ask in this way. This sentence alone should melt away all traces of reserve, mistrust, or hesitation in our hearts, bringing to light everything that remains dark within us.

Our Father mentions our “coldness,” which causes Him to suffer. In this case, God’s supreme love encounters the closedness of the human heart, unwilling to grant Him the only favor He asks for. The difference is abysmal. On the one hand, there is God, Who never tires of giving. On the other hand, there is man, who closes himself off to this immeasurable love. If we look more closely at the “favor” our Father asks, we will see that He does not ask for Himself—since almighty God has no need of anything—but rather for the sole purpose of giving Himself.

Let us always remember that God suffers when man does not let Him into his heart—the heart that God Himself gave him. God suffers when He cannot fill man with all the love He desires to give him. God suffers when man does not follow His ways and closes himself off to grace.

So, when we hear these lamentations, what can we do? Let us simply give our hearts to the Lord and ask Him to remain with us always!
