GOD SEEKS FRIENDS

‘In the Old Testament, I created and chose prophets to live among men. To them I told My desires, My sorrows and My joys, so that they could communicate them to everyone’ (Message of God the Father to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).

No matter how far men turned away from Him, Our Father never left them without guidance. Through the prophets, He remained in their midst. We could say that our Father looked for friends who understood Him. In the Old Testament, the prophets lived particularly close to Him so that He could communicate His desires and reveal His Heart to them. We too can recognise that our Father is never far from humanity, nor is He unreachable. Perhaps some people feel this way, or even have an unfounded fear of Him. False reverence, which tends to instil fear, obscures His true image. Undoubtedly, our Father tried unceasingly to lead people back to the right path. He describes this in his Message to Mother Eugenie:

‘The more evil grew, the more My goodness urged Me to communicate with just souls so that they could transmit My commands to those who were creating disorder. Thus, I was sometimes obliged to be strict in order to reprove them; not to punish them – that would only have done harm – but to take them away from vice and lead them to their Father and their Creator, Whom they had forgotten and ignored in their ingratitude’.

We see, then, that our Father made every effort to be close to us in the past and continues to do so in the present. He stands before every heart, knocking at the door and asking us to let Him in so that he can commune with us. Today, too, our Father wants to share with us the desires of His heart, His sorrows, and His joys. We only have to let Him in!
