220th Meditation
“I created you in My image, so that you should find nothing strange when you talk on familiar terms with your Father, your Creator and your God. For you have become the children of My fatherly and divine love through My merciful goodness” (Father’s Message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
The close contact with our Divine Father is a source of constant joy for us human beings, and indeed it is an essential part of our life; moreover, it is our life.
If you convey to children the existence of a loving Father in heaven, you will experience that they welcome Him with that simplicity which is to serve as an example for us. That is why Jesus tells us: “Unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven” (Mt 18:3).
I still remember the words of a sister of ours when she was about to die: “I come from my Father and I return to Him”.
God offers us this close relationship with Him, so that it shapes our whole life, becomes natural to us and reveals to us in all simplicity the meaning of our existence. Who would not want to serve his heavenly Father once he has known Him as He really is?
Just as it is natural for God to love us and it would be unthinkable for Him to stop loving – because “God is love” (1Jn 4,8) – so it will also happen to us by His grace: we will naturally love God and know that we will be accompanied by Him in all situations of our life.
This is what God has arranged for us as His beloved children. In this way, our life acquires its radiance and becomes a light that testifies to God’s love.
