TO KNOW THE HEAVENLY FATHER (Part 4)

362nd Meditation

To know, honour and love the Father…

When the trusting relationship between the Father and us has grown, that is to say, when we have come to know Him more deeply, we will notice how God begins to make us sharers in the desires of His heart. He will make us realise that we must go with Him in search of the “lost sheep” of humanity, to lead them back to the Father’s house. Read More

TO KNOW THE HEAVENLY FATHER (Part 3)

361st Meditation

To know, honour and love the Father…

The knowledge of our Father through His daily details for us, through His Word and through the richness of the holy sacraments is intended to lead us step by step to understand that our whole existence is due to the great YES of God to us. This great YES is not only valid on a general level for all people, but has a very personal character: “I have called you by your name, you are mine” (Is 43:1). Read More

TO KNOW THE HEAVENLY FATHER (Part 2)

360th Meditation

To know, honour and love the Father…

It is necessary that we perceive in our daily life God’s loving care and gentleness towards us. When we know that we are loved by a person, we notice with gratitude even the smallest and sometimes insignificant gestures of love. These speak to us about that person, so that by perceiving them, we learn to know them better. With the passage of time, we may come to understand that their details towards us are not just transitory or sporadic gestures; but that they come from the heart of that person. Read More

“MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN ME?”

358th Meditation

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Ps 22:1).

These are the words of Psalm 22 that Jesus pronounces shortly before He dies.

Our Father never forsook Him, but because Jesus bore all the sin of this world and nailed it to the Cross, God allowed Him to experience “in the flesh” the full weight of estrangement from God, that terrible inner state of being excluded from love and true life, “like the slaughtered lying in the grave” (Ps 88:5). THE FACE OF JESUS

356th Meditation

Today I want to share with you an extract from an inner word I received in prayer in the year 1984.

“Seek my Face and remain in silence before it, so that it may penetrate you. My Face is again giving a face to this world. It must pierce the darkness and imprint my features on the world. Seek my loving, suffering and holy Face.” Read More

“I SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED”

355th Meditation

“I shall speak of your instructions before kings and will not be shamed” (Ps 119:46).

Do we have the courage to speak publicly about our faith, professing it as it is? Or have we already been intimidated by the increasingly anti-Christian spirit of this world, which, if possible, would like to banish Christian witness altogether? What would happen if we were brought before the civil authorities, before the “kings” of this world? Would we lose our courage? Read More

LISTEN, MY PEOPLE

354th Meditation

“Listen, my people, while I give you warning; Israel, if only you would listen to me! You shall have no strange gods, shall worship no alien god” (Ps 81:8-9).

These words of our Father are no less important for us today than they were in that time for the people of Israel. If we obey our Father, His Spirit can easily shape our lives, because the Lord wants to come to a union of hearts with us. The prerequisite for this is that we listen to Him and obey Him. Read More
