Hope is a theological virtue, which makes us expect from the Lord what we do not yet see. If we place our hope in Him, the Father can transform our hearts. This is what He tells us in the Message to Mother Eugenia:

“Remember, o men, that I wish to be the hope of humanity. Am I not already? Man would be lost if I were not his hope. But it is necessary for Me to be recognized as such, so that peace, confidence and love may enter men’s hearts and put them in contact with their Father in heaven and on earth!” Read More

Whoever has eyes to see and ears to hear will certainly perceive that dark times are coming upon the world as well as upon the Church. Because of the loss of faith and the lack of clear orientation on the part of the Church, fewer and fewer rays of light are shining on the world, which so urgently needs the light of the Church. A deep sorrow and, at the same time, an immense gratitude can invade our heart when we hear these words. A deep sorrow because it is so difficult for us people to understand the language of God. Not even the presence of the patriarchs and the message of the prophets could sufficiently touch hearts. In fact, we know what was the fate of the prophets. We need eyes that see and ears that hear (Mt 13:16). Once these are opened, we begin to contemplate the glory of God. We discover everywhere the Father’s love in action, either to make His love known to us directly, or to fill us in superabundance with His beauty, or to heal the sick, remove evil from us and impel us to do all the infinite good that the infinitely Good One willed that we should do. Vigilance in speaking is very pleasing to the Lord. In fact, He Himself exhorts us to clarity and unambiguity in our speech: “Let your speech be ‘Yes, yes’; ‘no, no’. That which is over and above these, is of evil” (Mt 5:37). The words that come from our lips must be like crystal-clear, unclouded water, flowing from a purified heart and rejoicing God and people. If our Father’s wishes are most sacred to us, we can easily understand that one of His great concerns is that the Jewish People, His “Firstborn”, return to Him.
