“All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved”, Holy Scripture affirms (Rom 10:13).
Perhaps we do not always immediately understand that it is so easy to be saved… Indeed, we are also familiar with those other statements in Scripture about the narrow gate that leads to eternal life and the wide and spacious road that leads to destruction, and the Lord warns that “many take it” (Mt 7:13).
However, this is not a contradiction. The Father also assures us in the Message:
“All those who call me by the name of ‘FATHER’, even if only once, will not perish, but will be sure of their eternal life among the chosen ones.”
When God is sincerely called upon – and to this case such statements refer – man acknowledges the truth of God, who wants to save him. When he calls God his Father, he confesses Him. In fact, St. Paul affirms that “no one is able to say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except in the Holy Spirit” (1 Cor 12:3).
A true confession of love that a person professes opens his heart to receive the grace of Redemption.
