235th Meditation
“Your heart is therefore as sensitive as mine, and mine as yours” (Father’s message to Sr Eugenia Ravasio).
Once again, our Father makes us understand what his Heart is like by reminding us what ours is like, created in the image and likeness of His. If our heart is not completely dull and cold, we know well how we react to true love, to injustice, etc….
In another passage of the Message to Mother Eugenia, our Father expresses His desire to live in an attentive relationship of love with us. Precisely this great closeness to which He calls us and the infinite abundance of His grace should invite us to approach God with both deep reverence and loving delicacy.
The Lord wants us to understand that between Him and us there must be a natural consensus, a truly familial relationship, which goes far beyond the bonds of blood, however good these may be. Time and again, and in different ways, God offers us this closeness and expresses His invitation in such a way that we can understand it.
In this way, we come to understand more and more that we are created in His image, and that everything good and wonderful that has been entrusted to us comes from Him: a heart capable of love, an understanding that learns to grasp visible reality, the gift of faith, which opens the way for us to understand God…
What a delicate invitation to us is implied in these words of the Father’s Message! The immense, holy and infinite God truly loves us and asks for our response. In fact, we should be able to understand Him from our own experience. When we welcome Him, all will be light and our Father will give us His tender closeness.
