Today, beloved Father, we want to reflect on the pure heart. It must be a heart that belongs to You without reserve, that no longer seeks personal fulfillment, but only to be with You and serve You. It is a heart like that of the Blessed Virgin Mary—a heart that finds happiness in its depths because it has found its home. It no longer seeks anything for itself, nor is it seduced by the things of this world, false hopes, or illusions. It is a heart in which You dwell and have pitched Your tent. Such a heart is infinitely valuable in Your eyes, and You will never abandon it!
From a pure heart, Your love can flow like a torrent of life into this world, seeking other hearts that will also become dwelling places for Your glory. Such a heart will always bear witness to You, “for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45).
But beloved Father, how can we obtain a pure heart? We must invite the Holy Spirit. May He shine His light into the depths of our being, scrutinizing and touching what is still dark, what is still moved by personal interests rather than the glory of the Lord. May He reveal these things to us and draw us to Him, so that all the shadows within us may be illuminated by His light!
Since the Holy Spirit is the best teacher, in whom we can fully trust, He will not overlook anything that needs to be purified, but will show it to us in such a way that we can follow His promptings, because no one knows our soul better than He does.
Our divine friend will leave His mark on us so that we will perceive more and more subtly what does not correspond to divine love and the ways in which we have not yet fully awakened to true love. To the extent that we pay attention to His indications, our hearts will become purer and purer.
We will no longer be able to tolerate any impurity within ourselves and will beg for a pure heart on our knees. Then we will have set out on the path to transforming our hearts!
