202nd Meditation
“Oh, how I would like you to know the range of this enterprise, its greatness, its breadth, its depth, its height. I would like you to understand the immense wishes that I have for mankind, now and in the future!” (Father’s message to Sister Eugenia Ravasio).
Through Mother Eugenia, God Father addresses these words to the Pope of that time.
As this brief passage suggests, God’s works have a scope that we could not measure. But the Father sees His designs to the end and knows what it would mean for mankind if His immeasurable desires were fulfilled.
If God were known, honored and loved as the Father of mankind, true peace would come, and this humanity, often so disoriented, would find that true home which it often seeks where it cannot find it.
The work which the Father comes to accomplish among men is a “work of love”. He wants us to know Him better and to discard any false image we may still have of Him. His desire is for us to know Him as He truly is: a Father full of love and goodness.
What a change this discovery would be! Every distorted image of God would have to fade away and men would begin to surrender to Him willingly and easily. By cultivating a trusting relationship with our divine Father, He communicates His strength to us and teaches us to look at all events around us from the perspective of trust. Thus, we will be able to face even the most difficult moments of life.
The “work of love” that the Father comes to perform among men is of great importance, because it attacks the root of the evil that befell us as a result of original sin, namely, the loss of the familiar and loving relationship with our Heavenly Father. If we begin to heal this evil, not only will our relationship with the Father change, becoming more luminous and loving, but also our relationship with other people, with whom we will be able to meet in greater freedom.
