“Change can only come through true conversion and the observance of my commandments” (Inner Word).
The solution for this world to be saved is divinely simple. Yet this very requirement seems so difficult for people. How could change come about except by turning to God? To whom else could they turn? To man, to nature, to themselves?
Every sin leaves a trail of destruction in its wake if man does not turn to God after committing it, imploring His mercy and obtaining His forgiveness. God has made it easy for him, because He loves him so much that He goes out in search of him and follows him in his wanderings. But since He has given man freedom, He needs his consent, because, as Saint Augustine says: “God, who created us without our help will not save us without our consent”.
We are therefore called to deepen our own conversion and to immerse ourselves in the healing waters of love, so that our hearts may become the dwelling place of this divine love. “Blessed are the peacemakers”, the Lord tells us in the Gospel (Mt 5:9). Well, only if we ourselves are converted and keep God’s commandments with zeal and joy can we become peacemakers. And we will do this in a special way if we also urge others to be converted to the Lord and to keep His law.
We long for change in the world! It is so necessary because the more people turn away from God, the darker this world becomes.
I would like to remind all those who are listening to the “3 minutes for Abba” of the following statement of our Father in the message to Sister Eugenia: “I would like you to go to them [those who do not know me] in My name and speak to them of Me (…) Above all, tell them that I think of them, I love them and want to give them eternal happiness. Oh, I promise you, men’s conversion will come sooner”.
